Intake
Patients may access the service via telephone, online services, or referral. Amni Care provides support to healthcare professionals throughout the intake process. Patients are registered within the system, which enables digital assessment and facilitates clinical decision-making during consultations.
Triage
Prior to, or during, the initial appointment—ideally conducted remotely—Amni Care may be used to support patient triage. While the Brief Child and Family Phone Interview (BCFPI) is widely adopted within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, alternative tools, or combinations of tools, may also be utilised. Organisations can develop and implement their own standardised triage pathways, tailored to factors such as patient age or presenting conditions.
Assessment
From initial consultation through to diagnosis, Amni Care provides structured tools to support the assessment process, ideally through standardised programmes that enhance the quality and consistency of care. Pathways such as those for first appointments or ADHD assessments help ensure that all patients receive a consistent and comprehensive evaluation, providing a robust foundation for clinical decision-making and service development, as well as research.
Treatment
Amni Care supports ongoing communication between healthcare professionals and patients through digital records and messaging. It also enables the remote management of medication, helping to reduce administrative workload and minimise the need for face-to-face appointments.
Follow-up
Amni Care facilitates structured clinical follow-up during and after treatment, which may continue over extended periods at appropriate intervals. For example, patients undergoing radiotherapy may be followed up at regular intervals for several years after treatment. Patients with long-term musculoskeletal conditions may be reviewed periodically to support ongoing management. In child and adolescent mental health services, regular data collection can support the long-term monitoring of patients with conditions such as ADHD.
